BLACK BANK TAKEOVER - Doncaster Rovers vs Wigan Athletic
The Black Bank are taking over the matchday against Wigan Athletic on January 24 and are seeking to create a wall of noise and colour to back the lads.
The fan group will have a range of enhanced activities throughout the day, including sponsorship of the matchball, with the large surfer flag deployed prior to kick-off as well as a number of additional flags in use. Players will wear a specially designed warm-up shirt for the occasion, each of which will be available for auction following the game. The warm-up shirts will also be available to purchase from the Club Shop at the Eco-Power Stadium. As part of the day, Erik the Viking will make his return and be stationed outside the Black Bank stall in the Polypipe South Stand reception.
Rovers manager Grant McCann said: “I’ve said many times that the support we receive is huge for us and the Black Bank is a massive part of it. The staff and all the lads really appreciate that back and it’s great to have them at the forefront of things for this game.”
Chief commercial officer Shaun Lockwood said: “We are pleased to support the Black Bank as they take over Saturday’s game. The revival of the group has been greatly welcomed and their efforts to help boost the atmosphere on matchdays have been excellent. It makes all the difference”
“We have worked with Oxen to see £5 from the sale of each warm-up shirt be donated to the Black Bank for future projects so they can make an even greater impact.”
